Questions

What do APO, FPO and DPO mean?
APO is Army/Air Post Office, FPO is Fleet Post Office (Navy and Marines, including ships) and DPO is Diplomatic Post Office (US embassies). They are used as the city in a military address.
What are AA, AE and AP?
They take the place of the state. AA is Armed Forces Americas (except Canada), AE is Armed Forces Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Canada, and AP is Armed Forces Pacific.
Does mail to an APO address cost more?
No. Mail to APO, FPO and DPO addresses is charged domestic US rates, though packages need a customs form.
Should I include the country?
No. Never add a city or country name to a military address. It can send the mail into a foreign postal system.
